In this Tai Chi Qigong class, you will be introduced step-by-step to the “Eighteen Movements,” a form perfected by Master Tseng that uses Tai Chi’s soft and graceful movements in combination with exercises for the mind. By encouraging better balance, coordination, and concentration, mind and body flow together to improve Qi (life force) and your health.
This combination of self-awareness with self-correction of the posture and movement of the body, the flow of breath, and stilling of the mind, are thought to comprise a state which activates the natural self-regulatory (self-healing) capacity, stimulating the balanced release of brain hormones and a wide array of natural health recovery mechanisms which are evoked by the integration of body and mind.
Studies have shown 163 different physiological and psychological health outcomes from the practice of Qigong and Tai Chi.
“Mind the body and the breath, and then clear the mind to distill the Heavenly elixir within.”
These 18 steps are simple to learn and were initially developed for rehabilitative purposes, but are extremely beneficial for everyone

Derived from thousands of years of Chinese experience in the Healing Arts and Sciences, Qigong is a powerful way to maintain health.
Qi is the vital energy or life force that is inside and outside the body. Gong means to make it work and to produce energy.
Qigong means working with life energy. It is a self-healing exercise that includes body posture, movement, self-massage, breathing techniques and meditation. It helps you learn how to control the flow and distribution of Qi to improve the health and harmony of body-mind and increase longevity.
This is a beginner’s level class open to all.
